Seat Pads or Pet Mats - Made to order

Chunky seat pads, sit mats or pet mats, hand-woven by me on a peg loom with British wool.

Perfect to keep bums warm on dining chairs, or to keep our furry friends comfy and cosy! They can also be used as wild swimming sit mats, meditation mats or kneeling mats.

Choose from a range of natural colours of the sheep - browns, greys and whites/ creams. Mats can be made using carded wool to give a smooth and more uniform effect, or a mix of carded and textured wool for a more rustic effect, showing the curls, crimps and natural beauty of the wool. Please leave a note in the comments as to your colour and texture preferences. You can also choose if you would like chunky stripes, a more random effect, or a gradual gradient in the change of colour.

With a cotton warp this is a 100% natural and eventually biodegradable product.

Care instructions:
Wool is stain and odour resistant, so will very rarely need to be washed.
Do not machine wash. Shake out, sponge, or hand wash gently with warm water and mild detergent. If agitated too much the wool may begin to felt. Squeeze out excess water and lay to dry, ideally outside in the sun.

While every effort has been taken to remove all dirt and vegetable matter (bits of hay and vegetation), this is a natural fibre washed by hand so some tiny bits may remain. I do my best to remove these as I weave and they will be minimal. If you prefer to avoid this then please request a mat made from all carded, smooth wool.

Note: Many cats and dogs love a wool mat, but this of course can not be guaranteed, they are all individuals! A lot of dogs will still react to the smell of the sheep in the finished product and could chew or tear apart the wool, so please only order if you know your pet won't do this!
