More about Peg Loom Weaving
Peg loom weaving is an ancient weaving technique, suitable for a range of abilities and ages. With a relatively inexpensive and small, transportable loom you can make rugs, seat pads, pet mats, wall hangings, bags and even clothing!
Learn a new skill, and make a finished mat
This form of weaving is perfect for teaching to people completely new to crafting or working with wool. Participants will finish the day with a completed mat that can be used as a seat pad, pet mat or wall hanging.
Weaving for wellbeing
Working with our hands and focusing on the process of making can do wonders for our wellbeing, reducing stress and giving us time away from our screens and daily tasks. By the end, participants will be holding something beautiful in their hands and knowing that they made it - a real sense of achievement!
Working with wool and learning more
It is my aim to teach others about this wonderful, sustainable fibre, and share a traditional craft that can be practised again and again to make things for your own home and for loved ones. In doing this I aim to be part of bringing back the value to British wool for our farmers.
With my previous experience in community work, I am keen to work with museums, community groups and charities to have the opportunity to teach people from a variety of backgrounds and with a range of abilities, so please get in touch if you would like to discuss this further.
